What are the Covid policies?  (to be updated)

We are going to do everything in our power to provide a SAFE, IN-PERSON Conference.  Please understand that depending on Covid 19 situation at the venue at the time of the conference, you may be required to show evidence of complete vaccination or a current negative Covid test in order to attend In-Person.  Masks may also be required.  We will follow the guidelines of the county health department and Saline High School.

Will the Conference change to an ALL VIRTUAL Conference?

It is not what we want to do, but will follow the best professional advice we can get regarding keeping everyone safe and healthy.  We will make this decision no later than June 1, 2022.  It will be done with the advice of local health officials and school officials. An all virtual conference will be like FM-IFLT 2021–same great trainers, coaches, teachers and presenters.

When do I have to pay for my registration?

All payments must be completed at the time of registration with a credit card.  No Purchase Orders nor checks will be accepted as payment.

Registration is not complete unless payment is made at the time of registration.

Is there a partial-conference registration option?

Due to limited capacity and high demand for this conference, we are unable to allow registration for individual days. Allowing partial registration could potentially prevent another teacher from attending the entire conference. Conference capacity is set for the overall conference, not for each day. Once we reach capacity, we close registration, and that means that a partial registration would eliminate someone who registered later from participating. If we have not reached capacity a week before the conference, we may allow partial registration on a case-by-case basis.

Is there a lower registration fee for teachers working abroad?

To keep conference costs fair and at a minimum for all participants, we are unable to offer any discounts, regardless of your country of residency. Put another way, the cost to put on a conference of this magnitude is the same no matter where participants come from.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel on or before June 15, 2022, you will be assessed a cancellation fee of $50 per person.  No refunds for any reason after June 15, 2022.

Can I make changes to my registration?

Once you have registered, you will have until June 15, 2022 to make changes to your registration. After June 15, 2021, NO changes to your conference registration will be allowed. WHY?… Because conference organizers immediately begin analyzing your registration information to carefully place each participant in the most appropriate group. This takes an enormous amount of time, and each shift we make to one’s registration can have a domino effect on our grouping of cohorts. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

How do I know which cohort is best for me?

We strongly encourage you to carefully select your cohort BEFORE you register.

Do teachers receive materials as a part of this training?

What makes this IFLT Conference different from other conferences?

  • IFLT has a broad vision of teaching for acquisition. The goal is not to limit you to learning just one approach, but to help you hone your skills in ANY approach that is aligned with the principles of SLA and proven to facilitate acquisition.  IFLT maintains a holistic approach to training,  featuring powerful workshops with embedded small group coaching and collaboration where teachers will work with the same team of expert presenters, coaches and trainers each day of the conference.
  • Beginning in 2010 IFLT, with the guidance of Diana Noonan, was the first conference to feature Language Labs, which are live language classes with real students. IFLT continues to offer five days, three languages, four classes and four of the nation’s top ADI-focused instructors.
  • The IFLT concept is simple, yet powerful!
    • Train with the nation’s top trainers and coaches and learn various techniques appropriate for novice to experienced Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI) practitioners.
    • Watch live language classes, observing students and MASTER teachers in action.
    • Practice specific techniques that are relevant to your skill level and your teaching situation. Get personalized guided practice with seasoned coaches who have been highly trained in ADI instruction.
    • Attend sessions with highly experienced presenters on various topics all related to ADI.
  • At IFLT all attendees are trained within small groups of teachers who all are at the same experience level in knowledge and expertise in teaching towards Language Acquisition. Each level gives teachers a built in community for the week, as you work with the same team of expert presenters, coaches and trainers.
