After her father, a former captain in the Republican army, goes into hiding, Emilia not only must work as a seamstress to support her family, she must work to guard a secret that will protect her father and save her family from certain death. Will her innocence be lost and will she succumb to the deceptive and violent tactics of Franco’s fascist regime?
This story strategically weaves high-level language structures into a compelling story, which based on high-frequency vocabulary.
